Review: There are no simple words to describe 2001: A Space Odyssey, for after what seemed like hours of dreaming of an un-chartered universe, I stepped up from the sofa, only to remember that it was only a film which I had been watching. But now when I come to think of it, 2001 is more that just a film, it is a superb vision of the space age, and a fascinating journey beyond the boundaries of our own imagination. From beginning to end, 2001 provides awe inspiring scenes of colour, depth and dazzling effects. Which for me, left my mind awake with wonder for many days to come. 2001 is based on the novel by Arthur C Clarke, which together with Stanley Kubrick's visions of the future, bought this simple story of mans place in the universe to life. 2001 is the only film that I've ever seen which has left me both dazed and speechless. And if you haven't seen this yet, then I recommend that you buy the DVD without haste, or at least read the equally good novel by Arthur C Clarke. |
