Review: Being a bit of a sceptic to say the least when it comes to the latest 'must have' pieces of kit. I bought an ipod fully expecting to savage it and return it unimpressed. BUT, I have found the most trouble free and useful portable music player ever. First of all, it is true that it is unable to play .wma files, but the supplied itunes app will convert them on the fly to a format the ipod will play. If you put that alongside the seamless integration with the online itunes store, it really is a great little gadget. If you've never actually seen an ipod before, they are smaller than you think and the scroll wheel is a stroke of utter genius. To summarise, It doesn't have a great deal of bells and whistles, but it works very well, even on a Windoze machine. If you want a really nice looking mp3 player, with good battery life, (I manage 12 hours play) then grab an ipod. It's just made really well. If you were put off in the past by some issues then I'd ask you to check out the latest 4g series. In short, really like it's usability. |
