Review: The ipod nano is a fantastic re-invention of an already stylish and popular gadget. On paper and in some instances in practice it works very well as the tiniest mp3 device on the market. There really is a lot to praise this product on. So why is it that apple are selling sub-par nanos to consumers? The answer is that the ipod has grown so popular in such a short space of time that that little phrase "quality control" seems to have been filed under Not Important. The question is, why should someone spend over a hundred pounds on an item that will break after 2 weeks of ownership? The answer, they shouldn't. After this happened to me (the screen scratched all over after 2 days of very careful use) its a wonder why apple have not approached this problem with a louder voice. They promised to fix any ipod nanos with broken screens. Have you been on their website? I couldn't find anything mentioning a warrantee. Impossible. 5 stars go to Amazon for sending me a replacement so quickly (I bet I'm not the first). If you wish to buy the latest stylish mp3 player then this is it. But be warned. Buy a good quality case for it before you start using. You may be one of the few (or perhaps many) that get a defective nano. |
