Review: I bought this Apple iPod shuffle 512MB MP3 player as a stand in because my 20GB 4G iPod died on me (Apple are now going to send a replacement) but this is actually an amazing piece of kit. It weighs almost nothing, is very easy to use - no hassle with charging cables and swift data transfer. Although the battery life indicator is hardly specific, its accurate enough to prevent you suddenly being berift of music due to lack of power. Contrary to what another reviewer has said, the light on the shuffle switches from orange to green when fully charged, although if unplugged and then plugged back in seems to charge for another half hour or so. This was the first charge though, so may be to do with that. Which leads on to battery life - compared to the 20GB its huge. I've had this for over a week now and I haven't yet had to recharge it once, listening to it for at least and hour and a half each day. and the battery indicator says its still in amber rather than red. Sound quality is what you would expect from a much larger mp3, and the shuffle has sufficient volume for me not to have ever turned it up as high as it will go. The headphones aren't the best, but they are sufficient - I personally would buy better ones. Overall, this is great value for money, and it wouldn't suprise me at all if this turns out to be more popular than the original iPods. |
