Review: I researched this Archos AV400 20GB MP3 player for over a month. And even with the positive reviews, it surpassed my expectations. Recording from my tivo is beyond brilliant. I tivo a show, record it over night onto my Archos and the next day my commute is sheer delight. The picture quality is superb and the sound is incredible. After much debate I went for the 20 gig with the thought that I already have all my music on my 60 gig ipod and after I watch a show or movie I delete it. I am usually of the mind that one cannot have too much money or too much memory - BUT having said that, I figure that a replacable battery is more crucial for me. On a long plane ride, I will probably go through my battery faster than 20 gigs worth of video.
Encoding movies on a mac is a sinch with Handbrake and with the new firmware update, the sync problems are a problem of the past.
All in all - a remarkable machine! |
