Review: My father bought me this Black and Decker Hp12kd Esprit 12v cordless drill as me and my girlfriend moved into our first flat. I'm not keen on DIY, being a bit ham handed in that area. So i wasn't looking for a drill that would boil the kettle for me after i had finished the job i was doing. I just wanted something i could use to put up shelves with as little hassle as possible. This little bit of kit is perfect. I don't use it often, but that doesn't matter because it sits nicely under the bed in its storage case. The battery doesn't lose charge - if it's got power in it when you put it away, it still will when you get it out a few weeks later. The battery and charger are small, not that much bigger than one for a mobile phone. It slots easily, and i mean easily (it almost jumps) onto the drill and just as easily off. When its in place it doesn't make the drill heavy or unbalanced either, it feels just right. The automatic chuck is wonderful as i'm the kind of person who would lose the chuck key, but now i dont need to worry. Just put the drill bit in and give it a little twist. This drill is ideal for just having around for when you need it. Its got all the basics, enough power to get through most walls (though no hammer function but i never get that serious!) and fits smartly and comfortably in your hand. Its quite light too which is nice. I'd definately recommend it, it's a smashing bit of kit. |
