Review: I just had the Tassimo the other day and I had two free packs of T-Discs (Medium Roast and Twinings Tea). Very easy to set up and it's not a big bulking machine, it's very small, no bigger than a basic Espresso Machine. When you first get it, just run some water through and your ready to go. It will make using the Tea and Medium Roast coffee a 200ml drink so 3/4 of a normal everyday mug. The Tea is great, not bad at all, full of flavour. However I was disappointed with the coffee, very bitter and bland. After adding milk to my drinks the heat seems to drop very quickly, this is my reason as to why it's not got 5 stars. So the drinks you make don't stay hot for long, I'd say within 15 minutes you would notice a noticeable tempreture difference. Also be cause a mug can take heat away, then it would help that you warm the mug/cup first. The machine makes some strange noises, it's not quiet, sounds like a vending machine in your office (but I guess that what it is!). It's a clean way to make drinks, no mess, when you have popped the T-Disc in, machine does it's thing and then you take the T-Disc out and pop it in the bin. In regards to the T-Disc, now this is my biggest concern, I've been unable to try the Espresso or Creme Cafe, Hot Chocolate as they are not for sale in any of my local superstores and I've asked the customer services counter at these stores and they look blank at me when I say (Kenco T-Disc). It is my view that Kraft haven't marketed this well with the stores and unlike Nespresso, you are unable to buy the T-disc's via the Tassimo website. So I'm currently stuck with a machine that I can't use as I have no T-Disc's. Therefore Kraft have let me down. So, If you are a coffee lover, then stick with a Espresso machine, Amazon has loads to choose from, I've also found that my local Safeway has stopped stocking the Senseo pods... not too sure why... so I would hate to be stuck with a machine that I couldn't get drinks for it. That's why I would suggest going for a Nespresso machine as you can buy the coffee online and it's been around for 3 years or so and the brand keeps getting stronger. Thumbs down to Kraft for the Tassimo... a noisy machine, supermakets will supply stock in time, but I would guess not the full range of products. |
