Review: The colour is great as it doesn't show splashes (the grey one is even better). The non-slip handle is great to hold and doesn't get mucky like you think it would. It's nicely balanced however full it is, you can fill it through the spout or if you need to filter the water (which is not necessary because limescale doesn't build up on the plate unless you've got particularly limey water). The swivel base works well because my partner is left handed and you don't have to be accurate with putting the kettle down - it flops into place.

We had the grey model of this and I can tell you, it was boiled around twelve times a day for three years. VERY quick (unfortunately that makes it slightly noisy). The element cover started to rust and pit after a couple of years and some of the mechanism began to wear. It only just failed (the mechanical connector from the switch to the element). But you know what - we're going to get another one. This time in black.
