Review: Remember the hours of fun playing Burnout 2? Remeber how you used to laugh at the fact you could plough into vehicles at breakneck speeds and cause total carnage? Well this concept has been stretched even further in Burnout 3. Many more game modes to play. Many more Crash for Cash Junctions to cuase Havoc in, and more interesting vehicles to choose from. Working on a similar concept to Burnout 2, the more you progress in Single Player, the more cars you get overall. The Single players takes you to different continents where you compete in a variety of events ranging from Fastest Laps, to the awesome new event called Road Rage - the object of this is to take out your opponenets a set number of times before the timer runs out or your car gets too damaged. Crash for cash has also changed slightly. You gain powerups which can alter your score or just cause more mayhem. Imagine flying down a highway then suddenly explode sendings cars flying in all directions doing more damage than you thought possible. Other enhancements to the game itself include "Impact Time" where you slow down the time you are in the air. Coupled with this, you have "Aftertouch". What this basically is, is allowing you to have control of your vehicle as it sails through the air after a crash. The graphics on the game are great and if you can draw your eyes away from concentrating on the racing to look at the scenery and the superb lighting on the skies you'd be pleasantly surprised.
I'd say if you haven't got it already, you ought to get it because this is a game that won't disappoint! |
