Review: Being a faithful follower of the first two burnouts I was slightly sceptical when EA step in and took ownership. But they haven't let me down. I'm only roughly 10% through the single player part of the game, and it's superb. The gameplay is improved from the previous versions and the graphics and sounds have been given a shot in the arm. From the single player element you'll get what you got from Burnout 2. Grand Prix modes, crash modes and head to head races are the main parts to the single player mode, so it's what we've come to expect. However, multiplayer on Xbox live is where the game really shines. Simply amazing. You have a few modes to choose from. Single race, team pursuit, party crash, head to head crash and team crash. So far my favourite has been team pursuit. Red team against the blue, red team takes out the blue team whilst racing at break neck speeds. On a minor point. The connection to the EA servers seems to be a bit hit and miss. Sometimes people will just drop out the game, you can't join a lobby whilst a game is racing, a private lobby must have a password attached to the room and a few other little niggles. Hopefully these things can be sorted by a patch of some sort in the future. So to conclude....... Get it |
