Review: Was it really only a couple of years ago that the EOS 10D was almost twice the price it can be bought for now? That's digital for you, but sometimes you have to make it work in your favour and get in there before you miss the boat entirely! Digital photography has quite definetely taken the focus away from film cameras and thrust even the most raw beginner in at the deep end! So many cameras to chose from these days, huh? Maybe! ;) The thing is, there are digital compacts, and there are dSLRs! Why go for a digital SLR over a digital compact? More to the point, why go for this EOS 10D over any other camera? The answer is simple! Suppose you buy a compact digicam? You will soon find that you have run out of ways to fulfill all of your creative desires and your photos will all begin to look the same! Most folk end up buying another digicam, usually with more MPixels, as they think that this is going to give them more professional looking photos...'wrong! Some will even go for a new digicam with more MPixels AND more degree of control with a mode dial which actually has a Manual mode on it, thinking that this "surely must!" be the way the professionals do it! Wrong again! There is one reason above all why you should buy the 10D over all other digicams and/or dSLRs on the market just now. It's this...'the 10D is available at a price never before heard of and this is a dSLR, which means "YES! You WILL be able to take those professional looking shots your heart desires!". There's not really any point in buying a camera with a higher MP count (like the 20D), as it's money wasted. The 10D is as good a camera as the 20D and it is a heck of a lot cheaper too, but more than this is the fact that the money saved will mean that you will be able to put your extra cash towards your next lens as they don't come cheap! Remember, the 10D is an SLR, in digital form, so you WILL have to buy lenses in order to justify buying the camera body and get those terrific results. I speak as one who owns both the 10D and the 20D and I can tell you that the 10D is a beautiful camera, now, tomorrow and for as long as you will want to take digital pictures! This is a timeless camera! You will love it for life and you will find great rewards in learning how to use a digital SLR! If you are new to dSLRs and want to start learning asap, I would urge you to strongly consider the Canon EOS 10D as this is not just any old camera, but one which you could easily keep for a lifetime and never tire of using! Bottom line? It's the best in it's class, and the price is (now) right! Don't miss out! This camera is already a legend and will remain so! Buy one! Geo. |
