Review: I've had this Canon IXUS i digital camera for little over a year now and use it frequently. When I bought it, my main criteria was that the camera should be as small as possible and this certainly fits the bill. Unlike some small cameras, Canon do not seem to have sacrificed quality at all. I've seen some small cameras with poor quality screens but the one on this is very high quality. There are lots of functions to play with which if I'm honest I've not really got into as it was intended to be a snapshot camera, but it also takes reasonable quaility video which is useful at times. Pictures are about 2.5Mb a go if you set it to it's highest resolution but considering how cheap SD cards are these days it's not really a problem. I use a 512Mb card which gives >200 pictures which I think is fine. The only drawback to this camera is the lack of optical zoom. The digital zoom does not seem to work all that well either and I've found that if there is something I want to zoom in on I'm better off just taking the picture normally and zooming in using software on my PC. The resolution of images is high enough to allow zooming on the PC to produce good enough quality images. |
