Review: This Canon Ixus 40 digital camera is my first digital camera, but as I am used to the quality of Canon and my son has an older Ixus, I bought the Ixus 40 with a Bitestor 1Gb SD card and have not looked back since. Taking over 250 shots on a recent visit abroad.

Small size, light weight and very easy to use, the camera is excellant except from the odd occasion where the SD card doesn't seem to be recognised (the camera saying that there is a problem with the memory). Switching it off and on again seems to fix it. This maybe linked to another problem - sometimes switching the camera on when it had been left in playback mode, the camera states - 'No Image'. Switching to shoot mode again seems to fix it. Don't know whether this is a problem with the camera or there is something wrong with the SD card. Taking it in and out to ensure good contact doesn't cure it.
Otherwise, a great camera.
