Review: I had this Canon Ixus V3 digital camera for my birthday. Before purchasing I read reviews in magazines, online and visited more camera shops than I care to remember.
Being new to digital photography I was nervous about spending on a camera only to find that it was not what I wanted. Having narrowed it down to 2 cameras I read every reveiw on amazon and found them useful and interesting. Eventually I made the decision and ordered the Canon Ixus V3.
I have been delighted with it. It does everyting I read about and far more.
The picture quality is excellent. I was told that even with the best camera the prints would only be as good as the printer. My average canon photo printer gives brilliant results, using basic photo paper.
I wasn't sure about battery life, or running the battery down during an outing. No need to worry I have used the camera all day including reviewing pictures and taking short movie clips and still the battery has been fine. Charges up easily and quite quickly using the charger provided.
One review said that the software provided could be better. I have found the Zoom Browser software simlpe and quick to use for downloading and storing photos.
The features on the camera are easy to get used to - zooming in, self timer,reviewing previous pictures and using the movie facility.
I have since purchased extra compact flash card,a protective case and a compct flash reader (which I don't use as it is as easy to download directly from the camera) |
