Review: I got my Canon A80 Christmas 2003 after ages spent wondering which model to go for. The whole thing of digital cameras was quite new to me so it was all a bit confusing. Several photo mags and internet sites later I decided on the A80. Not only is it a great looking camera but it also has all the options that I will probably ever need. The instruction book that comes with it is a little overwhelming and approx 5 mins of looking at it on Christmas morning were enough for me to put it straight back in the box - but I did find that actually using the camera was enough to fathom out the majority of functions.
The movie capability was very impressive. It does only store about 3 minutes worth depending on the capacity of your memory card but I thought it was a nice add-on.
I found the included software quite straightforward to use as was downloading the pictures onto our computer.
One downside was the fact the batteries supplied only lasted me a couple of days. It takes 4 AA size batteries so unless you have a never ending stock of them you'll probably find that you need to get yourself a battery charger. Also no camera case was included which I found a bit annoying.
