Review: The Canon PowerShot G5 is simply an excellent digital camera. It is ideal for those people who are keen photographers but not keen enough to throw £2000 towards a decent Digital SLR. The only negatives I have read are regarding the chromatic aberration problems in the pictures and the lens cap falling off too easily. Well I have not experienced any real issues with chromatic aberration and this can be mostly eliminated where it is an issue by selecting a smaller apperture setting. This is not in my opinion a reason not to buy this model. With regard to the lens cap falling off easily. True, it does come off easily. Mine has never fallen off. I will also say that I have managed to turn on the camera 3 times already with the cap in place and have been relieved that it does come off easily. (Rather that than risk the lens break due to the obstruction, maybe this is why Canon have designed the 'loose fit') I highly recommend this camera to anybody who is keen on photography and wants professional features at an affordable price. |
