Review: I recently bought this Canon PowerShot G5 digital camera for a trip to Argentina, Originally a slave to my 35mm SLR I was slightly sceptical in getting a Digital camera. I was really impressed by all the feature the G5 has to offer, not only can it be used as a point and press but it is versatile for the more experienced photographer. The ability to house a Micro drive (2.2GB from Magicstor) is a distinct advantage to hold the many video footage scenes (with sound) and still have room for numerous photos. Photos can be taken in different sizes including RAW format, Black and white and Sepia. The 5 MP does make the difference in quality allowing the user to zoom into a specific area of the picture and still remain sharp. A lovely feature is the "photo stitch" option, where the camera produces half the previous photo on the screen so that a seamless panoramic shot can be taken and even if it is not seamless the software supplied will do the job for you.The only disadvantage with the G5 is that is a little chunky and not one for those who wish to slip their camera into their trouser pocket. A great camera, worth every penny. |
