Review: This Canon Powershot A300 is the first digital camera I've pruchased and overall I'm very happy with it. At the price it offers excellent value for money, with many of the features of camera's twice the cost. The automatic settings take care of all the features or you can adjust these manually if you prefer. The software supplied allows image download via a USB port and manipulation on a PC. I've used it with my laptop and it worked very well. The movie mode allows up to 3 mins of movies in avi format. The camera is a plastic finish so if you're after something more exotic (and pricey) go for the Ixus V3. My only complaints are that it didn't come with a case, the compact flash card supplied was only 16Mb and it drains normal batteries in no time, so make sure you get rechargables. I've now purchased a Viking 128Mb card from Amazon and look forward to taking the camera on holidays and giving it a true road test very soon. |
