Review: I bought this Canon Powershot A95 digital camera for my boyfriends birthday, so i purchased it early ensuring that my delivery was on time. Amazon was great and delivered it much earlier than anticipated. I wrapped it up and kept it hidden for six weeks and then gave it to him as a present. On his birthday we took some great pictures and were really impressed with the picture quality. however, the day after we went to use the Camera again and it did not work. we got an E18 error which renders the camera useless with a lens error. After investigating the issue it would seem to be an alledgedly common problem amongst Cannon digital Cameras supposedly arising from the use of cheap components. This could be true as my last digital camera was a Sony Cybershot that went all over Asia with me for 3 months without a single problem. I am now stuck with a Camera that i can not return, or even seem to complain about, as the prouct is over 30 days old but only a few days out of the package! Cannon tell me, the problem could have occured if sand or water got in the Camera but mine hadn't left my wardrobe or even the house, and it leaves me feeling very suspicious of them!!I was also told it could have been faulty manufacturing or during delivery transit! I now have to post the Camera more than 100 miles via special delviery, to get it fixed under warranty with at least a six week wait as there is not even a place in london to fix gthe problem. Be very carful when buying presents from Amazon that you are not going to check or use immediately as it would seem that after 30 days you have no avenues to return the item even if it is defective. Also you should think twice before buying a Cannon powershot A95 Camera. Besides the above, the camera seems to be very good and the swivel view is great. Immediate downsides are that you cant charge the camera directly as it uses regular batteries and the software is resource intensive. |
