Review: I've had my hands on this Canon Powershot Pro1 camera for several weeks now and I've been veryimpressed with its performance. I already have a 300D and it makes anexcellent second addition to my kit bag. Firstly, the camera comes with a good range of accessories thrown in, suchas a lens adaptor, lens hood and remote switch. Within its metal shellI've been able to take a range of excellent shots and it works well as aprofessional and an advanced amateur camera. It has all the features ofCanon's Powershot range, but this is a serious camera. If you want tospend some serious dosh and need a camera for the odd shot, this isn't foryou. If you want to spend money and want to develop your photography thenthis is a good camera to have. One niggle is the video viewfinder having a lag where you may not be surethat you have the picture framed correctly. This takes some getting usedto but once you have a feel for it performs well. The lens, with 7x optical zoom, is tremendous. With the zoom controlled bythe lens it makes for an easy-to-control shot. Once you have mastered thecamera (read the manual!!) it will perform on request. As a journalist I would recommend this to fellow freelances who want agood camera to take portrait shots of interviewees and who want a decentcamera for travels abroad. |
