Review: Being a non-professional (analog) Canon photographer for many years I am absolutely thrilled by the quality and versatility of this (my first) Canon S2is digital camera! When shopping for a dig my #1 wish was quality, #2 > 5M pix, and #3 analog zoom at least 8x. . So, "Canon" surely made up for #1 (Quality and price/preformance). I bought the dig in July (TheNetherlands) and took it to holidays in Chicago and Rome The image quality absolutely is superb, the zoom 12x (analog) works great and offers great possibilities the analog camera only provides when you take tonnes of glass with you ;-) And then all these extra's: video capability, stereo sound (also with pictures), macro and super macro, very many programming possibilities .. I am still in the process of exploring all of its facilities. And last but not least: the great design and usability ... No drawbacks? Yes, two: No .raw format and the dig lives on 4 AA (rechargeable) penlites, which make it more heavier than it would have been with a Li accu. To summarize: If you really are looking for a quality dig, with 12x analog zoom, 5.3M pix and a lot of interestingfeatures .... this is your hit! |
