Review: The Dyson DC04 silver yellow vacuum cleaner worked beautifully until shortly after the manufacturer's guarantee expired and, of course, we hadn't taken out the rip-off extended warranty offered by Dyson. So, sure enough, when the cleaner started making a horrible resping noise and not cleaning carpets properly (it still cleaned smooth floors, but made a horrible noise whenever the brush engaged), I was disappointed. The local repair agent had a shopful of Dysons, all lined up around the walls, all less than 3 years old and all exhibiting similar faults. The construction is plasticcy and resists the amateur screwdriver, so we cut our losses and bought a Hoover to replace it. In summary: a complete waste of money. The Dyson doesn't loose any suction untill it gives up the ghost completely - then it looses 100% suction!! Avoid like the plague unless you can afford the extended warranty. |
