Review: Being relatively new to digital photography we wanted something 'point and shoot' but with features that we could eventually learn to make the most of. This camera really is so simple to use and the picture quality is excellent. The 16mb Memory card is more than adequate for most uses and the Nimh batteries and included charger are good extras for the price.
The Macro mode is excellent for close-ups (I didn't even know what it was until a few days ago) and is another top feature of this camera. The zoom facility is impressive but seems to drain the batteries quickly so use in moderation! The only drawbacks we have discovered so far are that the red-eye reduction doesn't seem to work very well and that the LCD is hard to see in bright sunlight or dark rooms. The different types of flash are a bit confusing but you can do everything in auto mode which is sufficient for a beginner like me. Downloading and saving pictures was a bit tricky at first but once you get the hang of it you can do it in minutes. I am really pleased with this camera and the quality of prints even on a basic colour printer are more than sufficient for my needs. I highly recommend this model for anyone starting in digital photography because it will suit all your needs as a basic point and shoot but eventually as you learn more it will still be more than adequate.
