Review: This Fuji FinePix A204 Zoom was my first digital camera and when I received it I was surprised at how small it is. It certainly does the job though. The photos it takes are very sharp and detailed, even using full optical zoom. The flash charges quickly and is automatically used when necessary. You can even do macro photography, but that does seem to use a lot of power. It comes with a 16Mb xD card, which can hold 24 photos of the highest quality. If you use 1 megapixels rather than 2, you can take 48 photos and the quality is still very high. If you were to buy a 128Mb xD card, you could obviously take 192 or 384 photos respectively. The display is excellent, but it's best to only turn it on when you really need it, to save the batteries. Basically it's a lovely little camera, though what you don't spend on films and processing you'll definately spend on AA batteries, as they run out very quickly. Also, when you connect the camera to your computer, you discover that you need a Fuji 3 volt mains adapter, because even brand new batteries would die during uploading. I think Fuji should charge a bit more for the camera and include the essential mains adaptor. As long as the camera is connected to a computer and a mains adaptor, the photos upload nice and quickly. Also the supplied FinePix software is very good. I would strongly advise anyone wanting to buy a digital camera to get this one. |
