Review: I bought Full Spectrum Warrior for the Sony PlayStation 2 not so long ago. My first impressions of the game was it was life like, both in sounds and the game levels. This game bears a remarking resemblance to the conflict in the middle east. I must stress that this game is about the controlling of two four man units, and having to out think and out manoevere your opponents. Therefore you as the game player do not take shots, do not going charge through doorways saving hostages or any of the brave stuff that you would do in the likes of Rainbow Six etc etc. However, there is a certain amount of relief and frustration with this game. The relief arrives when you finish the level that you're on and you can relax. The frustration comes along where the AI fails to kick in as quickly. For example one of your teams is being shot, yet they do not have the knowledge to shoot back. It is therefore heavily based on the training scenario, possibly to show managerial staff how open their troops can be to enemy fire. All in all, I would still give this game 4 stars, it is very realistic (some offensive language, rag doll effects etc etc), it is very addictive...however it can get a bit same old same old with some of the levels. Worth renting...buying...i am not too sure. |
