Review: When it worked the Fusion DigiFusion FVRT100 digital video recorder worked well. It has some design faults in the user interface - apart from the fact that is a trashy, flashy, fussy menu with pretty pictures rather than clarity - the main one being that to get out of any screen you have to press the button marked 'cancel' - which is a completely differnt function from the 'cancel' offered on screen. And the remote is fiddly and badly laid out. But the dual record function, advanced recording from the guide and calender, and picture quality and sensitivity were fine. However, all this is overriden by the fact that within the warranty period I have had to return 3 of these machines because (in slightly different ways) they wouldn't start up. On the third time (actually a FVRT200) Curry's didn't have the recorder in stock, and won't order 'small items' - another gripe, so I took the refund and ran. Maybe I'll buy a Humax instead. |
