Review: The Honeywell Ultrasonic Humidifier is a really top-notch piece of kit!

As someone who requires a humidifier to be on during the night, I am incredibly impressed at how quiet this machine is. I have used other less-expensive humidifiers in the past that have bubbled and chugged all night long making a decent sleep impossible. But this Honeywell is so quiet that when I woke up on the first morning after purchase, I had to check to see that it was actually still on!

Its normal setting is exceedingly quite - but as an added bonus, it has a special night-time setting that is even quieter!

This is just one of the great features. It also has a digital read-out of the humidity level in the room, and allows you to adjust the output of the unit digitally so that you can maintain whatever level of humidity you want. You simply set the unit to the maximum humidity level you wish to maintain, and the unit will shut itself off and on as needed to maintain that level.

The unit itself only holds 4 litres of water, but if set to something like 50% humidity on the night-time setting, it can run for 10 hours easily using only 3 litres of water. The unit is also conveniently small and has an adjustable spout to direct the mist where ever you choose.

The only draw-backs to the unit are that:

a) it doesn't have a detachable receptacle for the water for easy refilling (either you take the whole unit to the sink, or bring the water to it in a jug)

b) the filter inside doesn't seem to attach the way it seems it should. It is meant to stay attached to the bottom of the unit under the water, but frequently detaches and floats around.

c) the instruction booklet was in a dozen different languages, but has surprising little to say with the English not great in places.

As a bonus, the unit comes with a cleaning tool and cleaning solution, and water hardness testing strips.

A highly recommended humidifier for anyone needing humidity control and quiet night-time operation!
