Review: I've owned this Humax PVR9200T PVR (personal video recorder) for 18 months now and can thoroughly recommend it. The majority of bugs have now been ironed out and those that do still exist are in my view minor. My wife and daughter have effectively hi-jacked it and its in constant use every day. Women are far less tolerant of complicated technology than men so this should tell you a lot about how easy the Humax is to use. The unit makes very little noise and unless you are ultra sensitive shouldn't be an issue. Minor complaints are: 1) USB to PC connection is functional but slow. This feature may not be used by the majority of people but its one of the reasons I purchased it, 2) Some regularly used remote control functions are hidden away under an annoying sliding flap which, thankfully, can be removed. Other than that the remote is very good. 3) Initialy populating the Electronic Programing Guide from standby takes far too long. I think this may be addressed in a future software update. The two year warranty is a bonus not often offered by manufacturers and is an indication of the confidence Humax must have in its reliability.Touch wood no problems so far! Internet forums such as Digital Spy contain a wealth of information and advice on this model from fellow Humax users and is well worth a look. If the money is burning a hole in your pocket - go on treat yourself you won't be disapointed. To use the well worn phrase "it really will change the way you view television". |
