Review: First, this Intempo PG-0 is IMHO the best looking portable DAB radio on the market. The real wood finish and silver is ultra cool, so much better than the granny retro-look. It has the best sound I have ever heard from any portable - good bass, good treable, good middle. Turn it up loud and there is no distortion. Crystal clear sound, hearing is believing. But... I think the firmware is pretty basic, possibly dated. There is no DRC adjustment at all. Worst, there is no Signal Error display, so no way to find the best aerial position. "Stations immediately accessible at the touch of a button" Intempo proudly state. In reality, it's more like 10, 20 or even 30 touches of a button. Problem is there is no Fave list option (I am comparing here with a really cheapo Matsui DAB I have). Just alphanumeric program order, really not good enough. My Matsui constantly monitors what you listen to and arranges the station list in your personal order of favourites. To cap it all, just 4 preset buttons. I recommend it, based on the look and sound only. Functionality is appalling. Unless you just love pressing buttons. |
