Review: I have to echo the reservations of one of the reviewers below with respect to the quality of these JVC DR-MH30EK hard drive recorders. When they work, they work quite well with editing and burning to DVD being fairly intuitive - in spite of the manual! However, having gone through one in late December - rapidly replaced (to their credit)by Amazon with another one in late January which is now also unuseable - I feel uneasy about risking a third one! Both machines worked fine for a few weeks before indulging in random crashes either in the middle of deleting files or during the "burning to DVD" process before just sticking in the initial loading cycle. Incidentally, I did buy an 80gb version through a High Street retailer back in July 2005 and that machine has been back recently for a replacement hard drive too. For a machine that has been on the market for a couple of years, these sort of problems should just not happen. The ability of the machine to change channels on Sky, before recording, was what particularly attracted me to this model but, in hindsight, I should have spent more time looking at other people's experiences with the machine before ordering! |
