Review: For those of you wanting to know if this JVC XV-S302 multi-region DVD player will play your dvd-rw or dvd+rw discs, the answer is yes. For some reason JVC deny this,saying that it will only do what it says on the box.However, rest assured I have tested it myself and it works fine.
The picture quality is excellent as well, unlike some others I have had the misfortune to trial.
It will also playback NTSC discs automatically on a PAL only tv, so you really can watch films from ANY region.
The only slight drawback, if your tv screen is square as opposed to widescreen, is that you have to watch the film in widescreen mode, leaving lots of blank screen top and bottom. With a better zoom feature you would be able to zoom in and avoid this problem.
But, overall, it's great value for money.
