Review: I really enjoyed jak and daxter-the precursor legacy. I eagerly awaited the release of this expecting more of the adventure puzzling that graced the first one, however i was wrong!
the game plays beautifully there are no loading times and all the characters are beautifully animated. the gameplay however seems to have been lifted wholesale from other games. One of the options available is being able to steal cars and bikes however run people over or steal a police car and the Crimzon guard will begin to chase you (grand theft auto). Upon getting the hoverboard there is a section where you must perform tricks to score points (tony hawks) and another section where you must shoot enemies out of the sky (medal of honour).
The rest of the game is made up of timed tasks such as collecting money bags taking people from one place to another (crazy taxi anyone?) and evading the police.
All in all it gets a bit tiring after reaching the halfway point. the tasks are very hard and frequently resulted in tantrums, tears and controllers being thrown across the room. The tasks begin to become monotonous and even when a dungeon style mission comes up they are still very hard.
the game will keep you playing a long time. the challenges being as tough as they are will certanly extend the life of your game, that is if you can keep from sacking the game off or critically damaging you playstation while doing it. my advice save your pocket and your playstation and rent it before you buy.
