Review: Jak III on the Sony PlayStation 2 - Jak and Daxter started back in 2000. The gameplay was reminiscent of crash bandicoot- innocent fun. How that has changed... Jak 2 was brilliant. It was a work of pure brilliance, it enhanced everything from jak and daxter and ditched the annoying bits. So, what of the new installment? Well, consider it a jak 3 extension- despite all its efforts to be a stand alone different title-the new sandy enviroments, haven city destroyed, all new racing sections it still retains the same feel as the last game, However, that is no bad thing. The gameplay has been notibly sharpened, packing even more variety into an already bursting disc. Another note to add is that the gameplay is significantly easier than jak 2- a great thing for some- but i found that jak 3 is a bit easy, but its still as rewarding as the previous offers. Everything in the series feels remarkably 'there' and the storyline is tied up very nicely at the end, with a few surprises. Jak 3 is a worthy purchase to any fan of the other two games-i am a huge fan of all of the jak games and i was pleased with this game all the way through. Jak 3 is not a stunning game- it does however succeed in offering more of the same, which is pretty god-damn good. Better than- jak and daxter Worse than - jak 2 |
