Review: I play a lot of FPS's on my PS2. I have a Cube, an Xbox and A PC(bit sad aren't I?). Halo is great to look at it's second installment is much of the same. It's a great game but it gets monotinous just running around shooting things to be honest. Half-Life 2 is,in a nutshell a masterpiece of gaming and Killzone is... well it's really meaty, the weapons feel solid and at a glance it looks impressive, the animations of the reloading feel satifying but the game doesn't play quite right for me. It doesn't feel right, the aiming of the weapons feels loose and awkward like the game was rushed for xmas or something. I don't think the PS2 has the power to cope with the game Guerrilla had intended creating or perhaps just another 6 months might have helped just to polish up a few areas. The sound in-game i found repetitive, the other character voicescan grate a bit and the game at times seems a chore rather than fun. If this game had been made on the Cube or the Xbox it would have been a belter because there was so much potential here. Don't get me wrong it's worth checking out but after all the hype i'm a little dissapointed really. |
