Review: For the money, this Lite-on 5045 DVD recorder was very good value compared to the 'big names'especially as it has all the bells and whistles I required. I too have experienced the freezing up and having to power down. The worst problem is when I press the edit button, to attempt to erase recordings from the HDD, it reverts back to the previous screen. I have to press the button at least twice sometimes 3 or 4 times until it sticks on the edit screen, or I just give up. This is extremely frustrating and elongates any 'weeding' session. After 7 months I am seriously thinking of returning it and am gratified to hear other customers talk of good after sales service by amazon. The section in the manual about upgrading firmware, seems to be missing, I thought that might help.
