Review Summary: Avoid at all costs

Review: Had a Lite-on 5045 DVD recorder for several months now. Really terrible user interface, only does timer recording if put into standby mode, but doesn't go into standby mode after period of inactivity like it is supposed to. Unlike my five-year old VCR it doesn't accept a timer record trigger signal from the SCART on my Freeview box meaning I have to program both to record a digital channel. Sometimes just fails to record what had been set in the timer. Sometimes crashes and the power has to be cycled. Sometimes records at the same time the following day for no apparent reason. Worst consumer electronics purchase I have ever made. My friends laugh at me. Will never buy a Lite-On product again.
