Review: This LiteOn LVW-5005 dual format DVD recorder does everything you could want. It records terrestrial TV from it's inbuilt tuner, digital channels from it's SCART in socket from my freeview box, converts VHS to DVD via it's AV inputs and has the most easy to use menu system I've ever used. Did I forget to mention the firewire port on the front too for dropping your home movies straight to disk?
If you are planning to buy a DVD recorder without a hard drive, make sure it's this one.
