Review: Having travelled the world and used Lonely Planet's books for each of the countries I visited I was disappointed to say the least about its coverage of Britain. Once again London is covered in detail - but what it fails to recognise is that there is life outside of London and most travellers want to see the real countries that make up Britain and that isn't just London. Its a shame that the writers have been opinionated rather than factual in this guide book, because so many people rely on their information, they shouldn't be so smallminded. The content is lacking on basic sights - I know there is an awful lot to see in Britain, but surely a little more effort could have been made. In my opinion - don't buy this - look out some other guide and don't waste your money!! Shame on you LP. |
