Review: Won't bore you with in depth analysis, but just to say that this Medion MD40814 DivX multi-region DVD player is an absolute bargain! DIVX playback quality is fantastic - it replicates exactly what you see when you play the file on your PC. Everything I have thrown at it plays fine. It looks nice & shiny and whilst the remote does look a bit cheap, it works fine. Even comes with the batteries, and also a scart lead. Plug & play heaven - you beauty! Only downside (hence only 4 stars) that I have encountered to date is the quality/functionality of the MP3 playback. Sound quality through my telly is pretty poor for some reason (and it's not the TV) and the menu/display options are pretty primitive. Saying that - you are only paying £50 for this and the main reason for buying it must be because of the DIVX capability. Save yourself hours of encoding and get one of these - burn the file to CD, crack open a beer, sit back and enjoy. Fantastic!!!! Haven't yet seen if Medion slap on firmware updates onto their site, but if they do, we'll all be very happy campers. If they don't who cares - what does 50 notes buy you nowadays anyway? Buy one now - and if the wife/husband/partner tries to talk you out of it, ask them to pack their bags and leave the house immediately. You won't need them if you have one of these shiny lovelies......... |
