Review: I really like the MGS games, however I was a little disappointed with Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater on the Sony PlayStation 2. Don't get me wrong, by no means is it a bad game, and there's no denying that the graphics and sound are awesome, its just that it seems to be made up of Boss fights, (which for the most part are very good) and cut scenes and the gameplay in-between is relatively uneventful spending most of the time in the jungle which I found a little tedious after a while, and even when you eventually get to the main complex you spend very little time in there before you're back in the jungle. One nitpick I have is that when you're crawling through the grass the game defaults to first person view which can be annoying when you crawl out the other side and get spotted by a guard because you couldn't see him. Obviously if you're a MGS fan you're going to want to play it, and I recommend you do but either borrow a copy or buy second hand. It's a good game - I just don't think it's the best MGS game. |
