Review: I was given a Carphone Warehouse voucher for Christmas, so I thought I'd treat myself to the V3, after the tempting advertisements I'd seen for it. The look and feel are superb, and I am very impressed by the sound quality during calls. However, I found the camera rather pathetic, the predictive text not very predictive (it seems to 'forget' words I know I've entered recently); indeed, I find it altogether very poor for writing text messages, as it seems to struggle to keep up - sometimes it's two or three words behind what I'm writing. Consequently, I'm always having to go back to correct mistakes made by the predictive text. The firmware seems very unsophisticated for what was quite an expensive phone (I paid £300 for it) and it only has 5Mb of memory: consequently, it can only store about 50 texts before saying that the memory's full. I have since bought a Sony Ericsson K750i. It cost less, has a 2 megapixel camera and first-class user interface. I didn't think I'd be replacing the V3 within eight months, but it's all promise and no performance in my opinion. |
