Review: The Nokia 7650 has a mixture of several up points, but a couple of significant down points. The main focus of the phone is the digital camera which is integrated into the phone and was the main selling point, so i will start by reviewing that. Having previously owned a SongEricsson T68i i am happy to report that the picture quality is a huge improvement on that of the T68i. The screen has, i think, 4068 colours, and the difference shows. unfortunately the camera has no zoom, so most photos are a little far away. However a clever piece of work from Nokia was the Dark Mode which lets you take photos in slightly darker conditions, although this is nowhere near as effective as a flash would be. Now to the other features of the phone. Obviously it has polyphonic ringtones which are very good, as you tend to know when it is your phone that is ringing, rather than scrambling through your pocket to check every time you hear a nokia tone. The message tone is also polyphonic! Probably my favourite feature in this phone is JAVA. This allows you to download new applications to use on your phone, and I currently have a video camera capable of recording 11 seconds of video! The major detractor from an otherwise excellent phone is the size. when in your pocket it is very large and noticable, not like other more compact competitiors. Also when open the phone is huge, and feels slightly unbalanced when holding it in one hand while texting. However the plus's outweigh the minus's and this is a very good, though slightly unattractive phone. |
