Review: I first bought my Nokia 8310 mobile phone in January 2002 as I worked in a phone shop, i was able to get it cheaper. It was the first phone that I'd seen for a long time that I'd fallen in love with as soon as I saw it! Although I was in for a disappointment... Within the first week, the software in the phone had messed up and I wasn't able to send picture messages, the phone kept turning itself on and off by itself and the worst thing was, it kept deleting all the numbers i had saved on the phone memory. Luckily for me working in a phone shop, I was able to change my phone no problem. What was worse, was that within a month, the same thing happened. I started not to trust my phone, I saved numbers on my SIM card just in case and I hated opening picture messages my friends had sent me as the screen would just turn blank as soon as I opened the message, and not just picture messages, but normal text messages too. I know this is a review for Nokia 8310 on Pay As You Go, and I'm certainly not bad-mouthing O2, but I definitely have a few words to say to Mr Nokia! In total, i've exchanged my phone 3 times within the first 3 months of having it, and each time exchanging to the same model, because i was so in love with the look of the phone. It's probably one of the smallest phones Nokia have ever made and absolutely gorgeous, but Beware all Nokia Buyers that Nokia have a problem with all their small phones. Not only has the 8310 got software problems, but so does the Nokia 8210 and the majority of all their small phones. I orignally had the Nokia 8210 but i changed it for the 8310 because the 8210 kept changing profiles on its own, open up blank screens, and so many other problems you can't imagine! Little was I to know that I was buying a so-called better (top of the range at the time of purchase) Nokia 8310 and since then has still got the same problems. I haven't changed my phone since because I haven't found a phone yet that i've liked, but I've kept it only because of how much I love its look, it's small, compact, gorgeous white backlight, radio and does everything i need it to... but everyday i get a little more annoyed with it. Beware all new Nokia buyers... Nokia may have the best reputation as a Mobile Phone Manufacturer, but their software problems are ridiculous! They charge you if you want it fixed, Westcom (Nokia's fix-it people) are rude, condescending, and charge even more if you want them to fix it! If you're thinking of buying this phone, I recommend you don't buy this phone, it's nothing but trouble! (advice from someone who's had 3 of these phones!) |
