Review: Onimusha 3 -The third game, are we bored yet? The answer is no.

Continuing on from the other two, Nobunaga is set to take over the world by going into the past and present. Samanoskei (never gonna spell it!) has returned from the first game to deal with the threat. Unfortunately (a great addition) Jaques, a french cop gets tangled in the web of mess and ends up fighting beside our hero.

The gameplay is essentially the same, thats a good thing really. If you've played Devil May Cry the system is similar. Many different enemies, fast action, various weapons (usually elemental i.e. wind stick thing, water axe etc) You are often required to solve puzzles by going from modern France, to historical Japan, often alternating between the two characters. This is done at the save point locations dotted around when you are able to change that is. One of the best things is that you can obsorb the souls of all you have killed, this allows you to upgrade your weapons. Again the gameplay is broken up by scenes which let you in a little more on the story.

The graphics are impressive. The opening sequence is one of the best, action packed sequences i have ever seen. The enemies are well drawn out, and different to the original two, however, some enemies have returned from the originals, just in case your worrying. The locations are new and different. The eiffel tower, the local zoo, are all places you will have no choice but to visit.

All in all, this is a great game, and is longer than its two predacessors. Unfortunatly, if for some reason you didn't like the first two, you aren't likely to like this. However, for anyone else, its a great game to own.
