Review: Panasonic DMR-E30EBS DVD recorder - mention it and people try to put you off. Don't let them. I have had mine for a matter of days and i am very pleased with it. It records to dvd ram and it's better than the original broadcast. You can re record and not fade away up to 100,000 times, you can move programmes around, erase items not needed and protect those that are. The copies for dvd-r are as good as (if not better than) the original and until you finalise, you can watch as many times as required. On the panasonic, once finalised, they are viewable on both my pioneer dvd player and my vaio laptop both with original quality. When copying, you do lose the original menu but if you play the disc and copy it while you play the original menu then you have it - you just have to copy each section individually. Over all, even on extra long play the replay is better than vhs. On xp, it's better and on normal 1:1 it's superbe. The one let down: some dvd-r will not work (but my suggestion is get a sample pack). I know ice white and verbatim work great and all dvd-ram will work as well if you can get the in caddys as they are very delicate. All in all my video recorder is now redundant along with sky plus the only way to improve your recording ability is to buy the dmr hs2 with the built in hard drive. I hope this helps. |
