Review: I have had this Panasonic DMR E55EBS DVD recorder for about 2 weeks now and find the recording quality good but not great...a little better than VHS (I can't compare with other DVD Recorders as I have only tried this one).
My only real gripe is that I thought (and was told) I could get 16 hours recording time on one 9.4 GB DVD-RAM - you can but only 8 hours per side and you have to physically turn the DVD over.
So the info on this machine should say Max. 2 X 8hrs recording. Therefore if you were thinking of recording loads of TV while you are on holiday - forget it....unless all you want is 8 hours.
One other thing is that my machine makes a strange humming noise when playing a DVD-RAM - but hopefully this is a fault with the DVD-RAM and not the machine itself....
