Review: I bought the Pentax *IST DS digital SLR camera last June (my birthday!)and have since taken several thousand shots. My main reasons for buying the Pentax was that I could use my Pentax lenses from my film SLR and the SD cards from my Kodak DX6490.I take mainly urban and nature pictures and I'm very pleased with the results from the ist*DS. Since buying my first digital in 2000 I've been waiting for a chance to use my Pentax lenses in digital. Digital SLRs are still pretty expensive, but if you're used to the flexabality of SLRs then it's worth the money to be able to control exposure, focal length etc in detail. The ist*DS is light weight, sturdy and a pleasure to hold and take pictures with. The results are as good as I have come to expect in 30 years of using Pentax products. The supplied manual is a 200 page epic (all in English) and covers everything. All in all I would recomend the camera to anyone thinking of making the switch from film to digital SLR.
