Review: This Philips 32PW9586C 32 widescreen TV is an absolutely fantastic TV. I used to have quite a lot of distortion on my old TV, but this one filters all that out. In addition, it also has a very good go at filtering out all the noise from old VHS tapes. It's main advantage, however, is it's capability as a DVD viewscreen, where the picture is very clear and crisp, oh, and BIG! Also, playing games from the XBOX and PS2 are very much enhanced by the larger view. As with many other TV's you can select the aspect ratio, so you can eliminate that annoying distortion or black line that you often get on terrestrial TV. The TV itself is also a very nice piece of furniture - it enhances the room just by being there in the background, subtly, as opposed to silver TV's that scream "LOOK AT MEEE!!!" And can look very tacky and cheap, no matter how costly they were from the monetary point of view. |
