Review: I got this Philips DVDR610 multi-region capable DVD recorder for Christmas and have also experienced the familiar fault of its clock advancing 30mins of its own accord. Still waiting for a reply from Philips... Apart from this it works really well, and I'm very happy with it. People have reported the remote control not working intermittently, and I thought I had this problem too, until I noticed that I had accidently pressed the 'TV' button on the remote. Once I pressed the 'DVD' button again it worked perfectly - it is simply a button to change the function if you also have a Philips TV (which I dont). Also when I set it up, I found that my terrestrial TV channels didn't work properly, and I had to attach the DVD recorder to the TV using the opposite SCART socket to the one shown in the instruction manual. After that it worked perfectly. I think Philips ought to change the labelling and instructions for this. So all in all, a few teething problems, but hopefully if the clock sorts itself out we will continue to have a very good relationship! |
