Review: I held back on buying a dvd recorder as I had quite a few region 1 discs. However, I took the plunge when Amazon advertised the Philips as multi-region capable and at a very good price. After some initial problems I contacted Philips who sent me a cd to update the firmware. I also searched the net as the Amazon advertised codes to make the player multi-region would not work on my machine. Using a one-for-all remote I inputted the codes and now I have the machine I want: excellent recording and playback AND multi-region. I didn't find the manual that difficult (I'm a "mere female"!) and set-up was relatively easy. I have now cleared the clutter from underneath my tv and am in the process of copying all my videos on to dvd. All in all I am very satisfied with this dvd recorder. |
